Logainm.ie is the official Placenames Database of Ireland, a comprehensive management system for the place names data, records and research of the State. It is developed by Gaois, Fiontar & Scoil na Gaeilge (DCU) and The Placenames Branch (Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media). Logainm references are displayed as hyperlinks in the item metadata, and have been provided for each writer (where known) at as detailed a level as possible. As the logainm data is available as a polygon (i.e. a bounded area) it differs from the lat/long coordinates available using the built-in Omeka mapping tool.
