Sister of Una Troy (q.v.), Shevaun began to write poetry in 1974 when she joined the Lantern Theatre writers group in Dublin. She published several poems in broadsheets produced by this group.
She then moved to Cork, and her poems were published by New Poetry, Tuesday Magazine and The Examiner, sometimes under the pseudonym "Gabriel Vand".
Shevaun Troy won first and second prize at the Doneraile Writers Weekend in 1981, and the Jameson Prize at the Listowel Writers Week in 1982.
She published one volume of poetry, Only By the Heron's Flight.
She then moved to Cork, and her poems were published by New Poetry, Tuesday Magazine and The Examiner, sometimes under the pseudonym "Gabriel Vand".
