Biographical Text

Grace Wells was born in 1968 in London where she worked as a television and video producer until 1991 when she moved to Ireland to work with Kerry-based artist Lily van Oost. This project completed, she settled in Tipperary and began exploring organic agriculture, working with people with special needs facilitating biography and poetry workshops. Her writing career began to take shape in 2002 when she was appointed literature officer at the South Tipperary Arts Centre. The same year saw the publication of her first novel, Gyrfalcon, and she was also selected as an upcoming poet for Poetry Ireland's Introductions Series 2002. She has lived on the side of the Sliabh na mBan hills in Co. Tipperary for the past eleven years.
