Biographical Text

Dympna Dreyer was born in Tipperary and grew up in the Glen of Aherlow. She lived in London, Boston, New York and Paris at various stages, a factor which she believes influences her work. She lives in Waterford now where she has taught for the past thirty years. She was nearly sixty when she started writing and her best-known work is a collection of poetry, Come Sun, Come Snow (1999). She has also had individual poems anthologised in Poetry Ireland, Oxford Magazine, The Shop, Waterford Review, Cork Literary Review and others. She has won a number of awards in both national and international poetry competitions.
